About
After graduating from the University of Alberta with my Bachelors of Education degree in 1984, my career path led me to two separate First Nations schools and the provincial school system.

Early in my career, I decided on the lofty goal of increasing the graduation rate in the First Nations communities; I became committed to reversing dropout trends by creating supportive and individualized education.

This has become a lifelong mission: to create an environment where every student is respected, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential. My philosophy of education is rooted in the belief that every student and their learning style is unique, therefore it is important to offer a holistic approach to each individual student.

Throughout my 30+ year career in the education field, I have served as an administrator, counselor, and classroom teacher, gaining a well rounded understanding of student needs at every level.
I am honoured to have received two "Teacher/Educator of the Year" awards throughout my career, recognizing my commitment to student success and innovative educational practices.

Alongside my calling to educate, I have a passion for training and competing at the professional level of barrel racing. As both a dedicated educator and active competitor, I have a unique understanding of overcoming challenges, building resilience, patience, understanding, as well as offering a unique and holistic perspective to my teaching.
